This week, Little Man turned seven weeks. Mom and Dad are doing unbelievably great. This has been such a wonderful experience – I hesitate to even put words on it.
I lieu of all that mushy stuff (ha!), we are experiencing as new parents…
Worried about things out of our control. (e.g. why is that guy speeding near us? Is he on the phone?)- Worried about things within our control. (e.g. cover him up! Haven’t you heard of a moonlight burn?)
- Learning the difference between the “I’m hungry” cry and the “I’m wet” cry
- Incessantly watching for smiles
- Thinking <enter spouse name> couldn’t possibly <enter task> as good as me
- Laughing at farts and burps. That will probably never stop.
Soon, we will hear more about the finalization process… which should be sometime between August and September (3-6 months after the adoption). Once we get the notice, then we take a trip, see the judge, and everything will be official. With officialness, comes his birth certificate, his passport, and then we’re off to the races!
